Hidden Cave Curly Horses

Tucked away in the wooded hills of Cumberland County in South-Central Kentucky, minutes away from Dale Hollow Lake and Lake Cumberland. A herd of horses is running freely down the hill in their pasture. The horse’s breath shows in the crisp morning air. These are the American Bashkir Curly Horses, who are born and raised at the Hidden Cave Ranch. Perched on a secluded hillside stands a proud stallion, nickering at his mares and foals. Foals are frolicking, geldings are playing, and the mares are watching.

Jaro and Marion, who are originally from the Netherlands, have a passionate desire to breed the best quality of American Bashkir Curly horses. They also run an award-winning B&B, rated #1 on TripAdvisor, which offers you the best in service and hospitality. Our goal is to provide you an opportunity to disconnect from your daily routine or hurried lifestyle and reconnect with yourself, The horses, God, or all three. We want your stay at The Hidden Cave Ranch to be a relaxing, wonderful and memorable experience.

American Bashkir Curly horses are still a rare breed with a mysterious and unknown history. Curly horses are known for their calm, intelligent and friendly personality.
